Case Study: Pets & Inflammation

One of the most rewarding aspects of the work I do is helping uncover why symptoms are happening rather than simply chasing the symptoms themselves. Every body—human or animal—has an incredible ability to communicate when we know how to listen.

Recently, I had the privilege of working with Edgar, a sweet dog whose owner sought my help after he developed a persistent limp that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Through muscle testing, I asked Edgar’s body a simple question: What is the highest priority imbalance contributing to this inflammation?

The answer surprised us both.

The First Layer: Heavy Metals

The first imbalance that surfaced was heavy metals associated with a recent vaccination. When I shared this information with Edgar’s owner, he immediately paused and said something that changed everything:

"Now that you mention it...the limp actually started right after his vet appointment."

While this timing alone does not establish that the vaccine caused Edgar’s symptoms, it provided an important piece of his health timeline that aligned with what emerged during our energetic assessment.

Over the course of two remote energy sessions, I focused on supporting Edgar’s body's natural detoxification processes to release the heavy metals that were stored in the muscle of his hind leg. As his system cleared the offending chemical elements, his owner reported remarkable changes.

Edgar began walking more comfortably, and his energy returned.

It looked like we had solved the mystery.

Or so we thought.

About a week later, Edgar’s owner reached out again.

The limp was back.

This is one of the biggest lessons I've learned through years of energetic work: healing often happens in layers. Resolving one imbalance doesn't necessarily mean you've uncovered the entire picture.

So we tested again.

This time, the answer was completely different.

The Second Layer: Food Density

Rather than heavy metals, Edgar’s body identified the energetic density of his food as the primary source of inflammation.

Edgar had been eating The Farmer's Dog, one of the most popular fresh dog food brands on the market.

Interestingly, this coincided with a class action lawsuit filed in 2026, Trott v. The Farmer's Dog, Inc. (Case No. 1:26-cv-03410, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York). The complaint alleges that the company failed to adequately disclose the high fat content of some of its recipes and that consumers were not sufficiently warned about potential health risks, including pancreatitis in susceptible dogs. The Farmer's Dog has denied these allegations, stating that its recipes comply with nutritional standards and that there is no established scientific evidence showing its complete and balanced foods cause pancreatitis.

It's important to note that a lawsuit represents allegations—not findings of fact. Likewise, canine pancreatitis is a complex condition with many potential contributing factors, and veterinary experts continue to debate the role dietary fat plays in its development.

Regardless of the broader debate, Edgar’s body consistently identified his current diet as an energetic stressor and a big contributor to his inflammation.

I suggested his owner temporarily simplify his meals by switching to a basic chicken-and-rice diet to see how he responded.

The results were almost immediate.

Within a few hours, Edgar’s limp improved again.

Even better, he naturally lost 3 pounds in the first few weeks of his diet, reducing additional strain on his joints and improving his overall mobility.

Every Body Has Its Own Blueprint

What I love about this case is that it reminds us there is rarely one universal answer to inflammation.

For Edgar, muscle testing identified two separate priorities, each needing attention at different stages of healing.

First, his body needed support clearing an energetic heavy metal burden.

Then, once that layer was resolved, it revealed that his diet had become the next priority.

Neither answer would have told the whole story on its own.

This is why I never believe in one-size-fits-all wellness. Whether I'm working with people or animals, the goal isn't to force the body into a protocol—it's to ask better questions and allow the body to reveal what it needs next.

Edgar’s journey is a beautiful reminder that healing is often a process of peeling back layers. When we listen carefully, support the body's innate intelligence, and remain open to new information as it emerges, remarkable transformations can happen—one layer at a time.
